Carl Fredricksen from childhood dreamed of great journeys and discoveries. Being a big fan of Charles Manca, who traveled to South America in the company of their trained dogs, Karl dreamed of someday go to Paradise falls and repeat his feats. While still a small boy, Carl became acquainted with Elli-girl-next-door, who shared his passion for travel and also wanted to get into South America.
